Clear Dredge, a Swedish environmental contractor, bought a Crisafulli Rotomite 6000-CD and named it “Idril”. Clear Dredge operates Idril in challenging environments. Clear Dredge is a subcontractor for a large Swedish company that specializes in solutions and products for water purification in difficult environments.
Clear Dredge successfully serves the mining and municipal sectors with Idril, their Rotomite 6000-CD. Clear Dredge’s first project with Idril was removing mining wastes in northern Sweden, 400 kilometers (250 miles) south from the polar circle with temperatures ranging from -8 to -22 degrees Celsius (18 to -8 Fahrenheit). The demanding project included pumping the 5,500 cubic meters (194,230 cubic feet) of 12% solids through a lengthy discharge line of 450 meters ( 1,476 feet), up a steep climb (23%) and into a high slag heap of 40 meters (131 feet). The successful project was completed in 8 days working 10 hours/day.
Clear Dredge successfully dredged two large municipal waste lagoons in northern Sweden. The first lagoon was dredged in 2 weeks during the summer. The second lagoon was dredged for 6 weeks in late autumn until freezing temperatures postponed completion until spring. The dredging results were superb with more than 16,000 cubic meters (565,034 cubic feet) of 10% solids dredged. The solids were dewatered through Geotubes. The project is expected to begin again in the spring with 10,000 cubic meters (353,146 cubic feet) more to dredge.
