FLUMP Field Installation Helped by Novel Means of Communication

Sometimes we need to look up a phone number, check an account, or find an engineer ASAP for on-the-go technical information.  Most of us today rely heavily on our cell phones and email for these important communication needs.  On rare occasions, however, we may find ourselves with no cell coverage, no access to email, and no time to wait for a text or email response.  Maybe not often, but you have to admit, it does happen.

Recently SRS Crisafulli Specialists Chad Schipman and Tristan Hoff were dispatched to install a Crisafulli FLUMP in a remote area of Mexico.  Unfortunately, however, upon arriving at the final destination airport in Mexico, Mr. Schipman discovered his baggage had been lost.  The missing baggage contained the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual documenting all the technical specifications for the FLUMP they were about to install and for which they were scheduled to provide training.

Thanks to years of experience, the installation was successfully completed without the manual, but they still needed the technical specs.  Mr. Schipman realized he had no cell phone service and access to his remote email was blocked.  However, he did have Internet access.  On the final morning of the installation visit the home factory received a live chat request (a feature recently made available on the crisafullipumps.com website) from our very own Mr. Schipman.

Within a half hour we were able to publish the required O&M pages and pump curve papers via the crisafullipumps.com website for fast and easy download.  Later that day another chat request came in from Mr. Schipman.  Working together the Engineering, Sales and Marketing departments were collectively able to assist Mr. Schipman. They provided him with flow calculations, general advice and the other documents Mr. Schipman required.  "The live chat was a 'life saver,'" said Mr. Schipman upon his return home.
